Mixon Hall, Cleveland Institute of Music
7:30PM
This eclectic program opens with four whimsical duos infused with windswept folk-like harmonies followed by a piano work bridging Old and New Worlds. Prokofiev’s playful quintet was originally conceived for a ballet and evolved into one of his most radical scores. Finally, the sunny and upbeat Nonet by Louis Spohr was an unqualified success in its day: playfully buoyant and filled with Viennese charm.
