Flights of Fancy

Mixon Hall, Cleveland Institute of Music
7:30PM

Soul-searching and high-spirited, Haydn’s Piano Trio is mature and masterful in its simplicity. Written more than two centuries later, Birds on the Moon captivates with its ever shifting audioscape of natural sounds and startling effects. Born in Venezuela, Reynaldo Hahn charmed high-society 1920s Paris with his irresistible Piano Quintet. Though rarely performed today, its unforced brilliance is a flashback to the elegant salons of the Belle Epoque.
