Homecoming

Saturday, June 13, 2026
Mixon Hall, Cleveland Institute of Music
7:30PM

This evocative program opens with a contemporary multimedia meditation, fusing stunning visual projections from Native artists with music by a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation dedicated to the development of American Indian classical composition. A century earlier, Ernest Bloch, the founding Director of the Cleveland Institute of Music, wrote his boldly original piano quintet, which melds a gritty urban tone with moments of lyrical reflection. A witty and lighthearted piano trio by Mozart opens the evening.
