Meghan Guegold is Principal Horn of both the Akron and Canton Symphony Orchestras. She frequently performs as an extra and substitute horn with The Cleveland Orchestra, and has also performed with the Minnesota and Florida Orchestras, the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus.
Ms. Guegold is on faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music for the Preparatory and Continuing Education division and the Joint Music Program with Case Western Reserve University. She coaches both conservatory and preparatory brass ensembles and coordinates the chamber music program for conservatory woodwind and brass students.
A northeastern Ohio native, Ms. Guegold has a master’s degree in performance from CIM, where she studied with Richard King, and a bachelor’s degree in performance with honors from the University of Akron, where she studied with William Hoyt. Additionally, she studied with Rick Solis, Eli Epstein, and David Jolley, and attended the summer festivals of Music Academy of the West, National Repertory Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Center, and Artosphere. She was a recipient of a Presser Foundation Scholarship at Akron, a winner in two Tuesday Musical Association competitions, and has been a featured soloist with the Akron and Canton Symphony Orchestras.
