100 Greatest Dance Hits

Saturday, June 29, 2024
Maltz Performing Arts Center

Among the most popular works of one of the most beloved composers, Bach’s concerto is an absolute joy, by turns virtuosic, mysterious, intricate, and extravagant. Cool and funky, Aaron Jay Kernis’s compilation is a witty reminder that we are constantly surrounded by music that constantly surrounds us—at the mall, in the car, in an elevator—skillfully crafted. While still a teenager, Enescu labored for a year and a half over this vast work of giant proportions and grand designs, creating one of the most astonishing masterworks in all of chamber music.
