A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTORS…

Whether written in the 15th century or 15 minutes ago, music always bears the traces of time and place, culture, the world as it is/was when it was first written, performed, and heard by audiences. Listening today, our experience is unique, yet we’re all part of the same primordial soup. This year’s theme of “Sacred + Profane” is a timeless concept: We as humans have this necessity to transcend, to reach for the divine, and we also have bodies that exist in the real world, that hug and hurt and hear beautiful music.

Having said that, as musicians, every single one of these pieces is sacred to us. It is our privilege to envision these fascinating programs, bring them to radiant life, and, most especially, to share them with you.
