America’s oldest private club devoted to the performing arts is “one of Cleveland’s best-kept secrets,” and Danish cellist Jonathan Swensen has been declared “One to Watch” by Gramophone Magazine. Take these two, add libations from a Bavarian beer garden, and enjoy a feast for all the senses. Bach’s Cello Suite No. 4 delivers a bold Prelude and intricate dance movements with elegance and warmth. Swensen’s acclaimed debut recording featured Bent Sørensen’s Farewell Fantasia, a hauntingly beautiful work filled with delicate harmonics and ethereal textures, and Kodály’s Cello Sonata, a virtuosic tour de force demanding immense skill and passion.

Join us at The Hermit Club at 7 PM for a happy hour with CFC Artistic Directors and Festival Musicians in the Stube (lower level). The performance will begin at 8 PM in the upstairs Festhalle.
