Fidelity and Betrayal

Saturday, June 17, 2023
Mixon Hall, Cleveland Institute of Music
7:30PM

Love and obsession, jealousy and betrayal, drama and whirlwind romance—this program has it all! Latin jazz dances with a theatrical flair set the scene for a virtuoso fantasy on a seductive classic, and a highly charged dramatic reverie by Sibelius shimmers with dreamlike wonder. It takes two—pianists, that is—to plumb the profound depths and ecstatic heights of Schubert’s massive Fantasie, and two more—master improvisers of folk, jazz, and world music—to bring the evening to a breathtaking finish.
