Three remarkable artists come together to offer chamber music at the highest level. Clarinetist Franklin Cohen, pianist Peter Takács and soprano Amanda Powell anchor the first half of their concert with Franz Schubert’s beloved Der Hirt auf dem Felsen (“The Shepherd on the Rock”), Robert Schumann’s Fantasiestücke Op. 73 and Maurice Ravel’s Cinq melodies populaires grecques. The second half of the concert will explore a mosaic of sound in arrangements of international folk songs by Northeast Ohio composer, Dave Morgan (Youngstown State University). From the Appalachian Mountains to the Greek seaside, to a classical Arabic muwashshah, these charismatic musicians will take you on a beautiful journey through global folk songs.
