Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, viola, has appeared as soloist with the Tokyo Philharmonic, Jacksonville Symphony, and the Sphinx Chamber Orchestra. She has performed in recitals and chamber music concerts throughout the United States, Latin America, and Europe, including her 2011 debut recital at London’s Wigmore Hall. Summer festival appearances include Bravo! Vail, Marlboro, Bowdoin, Sarasota, Strings, La Jolla Summerfest, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Italy’s Emilia Romagna Festival, Colombia’s Festicámara, and Mexico City’s Festival de Mexico. She has collaborated with Itzhak Perlman, Andres Cardenes, Peter Wiley, Michael Tree, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Vadim Gluzman, Cho-Liang Lin, Philippe Quint, Joseph Silverstein, Paul Katz, Ida Kavafian, Soovin Kim, and Mitsuko Uchida. A Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition winner, she was First Prize winner and sweeper of every special award at the Banff International String Quartet Competition 2013 and winner of the Gold Medal and Grand Prize in the 2010 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. Ms. Pajaro-van de Stadt is the founding violist of the Dover Quartet. The ensemble is the quartet-in-residence for the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, Chamber Music Northwest, Artosphere, the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, and Peoples’ Symphony in New York, and was recently named the first-ever quartet-in-residence for the Kennedy Center. Its debut album was devoted to music of Mozart, and its second recording, Voices of Defiance: 1943, 1944, 1945 includes music of Shostakovich.
