Set at the elegant Harkness Chapel, “Rule Smashers” presents groundbreaking works that defied the musical paradigms and traditions of their day.  The concert features Haydn’s String Quartet in C major, a work that elevated chamber music to a new plane of aesthetics and sophistication, as well Schoenberg’s Transfigured Night, one of the most hauntingly evocative statements of the late Romantic era.

To heighten your understanding of the soul and spirit of these works, arrive at 7 pm for an interactive presentation with speaker and composer Patrick Castillo and “Rule Smashers” musicians.

Harkness Chapel is located on the campus of Case Western Reserve University at 11200 Bellflower Rd., Cleveland, 44106.
